Supporting our veterans
Veterans and their families have made so many sacrifices. We want to help build a safe space for them. This means supporting the well-being of those individuals through local and national veteran activities as well as employment opportunities. Our commitment to support military families focuses on raising awareness of their needs, gathering donations and volunteering at community events both virtually and in-person.
PayFlex colleagues will virtually run in the historical Marine Corps Marathon, 50K and 10K starting October 1 through November 11, 2021. Our involvement helps raise funds for the United Service Organization (USO). To learn more about the USO, go to www.USO.org.
The Elizabeth Dole Foundation’s community of over 3,000 military and veteran caregivers will receive a free 1-year CVS CarePass® membership from PayFlex and the CVS Health family. The pandemic has made simple tasks like running to the store a challenge. We’re honored to help ease one of the burdens that caregivers face with accessing supplies and prescriptions for their wounded warriors.
PayFlex is a sponsor for Hartford’s Hands & Hearts Together virtual event on September 26, 2021. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs estimates that 131,000 veterans are homeless on any given night. The virtual event will help support Hands on Hartford’s housing assistance, homeless outreach and homelessness prevention work for veterans.
We formed a virtual race team for the Connecticut Veterans Legal Center ride and raised over $15,000 in free legal services for homeless and at-risk veterans in Connecticut.
We donated over $800 worth of non-perishable food and baby items to Project New Hope’s veteran food and baby pantry.
We donated over 400 items to the back-to-school event for National Guard families throughout the state of Connecticut.
